Keeper of Souls (The Faith Healer’s Daughters Book 3)

Keeper of Souls (The Faith Healer's Daughters Book 3)Keeper of Souls by Sheila English
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bravo Sheila! This is an epic end to a great series! I was enthralled from the very first page. I honestly had a hard time putting this book down to do real life things, like work, cook, clean, ect…. There’s a saying that says something like, “you know it’s a good book when you turn the last page and you feel like you’ve lost a friend.” Well I’ve just lost six friends! But more so Elizabeth and Cole. Their characters were often misunderstood throughout the first two books, but their story is simply amazing! Their struggles and issues from their past made them strong enough to face their future turmoils and greatest foe. I wish I could give spoilers but I just can’t! Just know this book is full of action, forgiveness, love, and magic. Go get this book once it comes out, and if you haven’t read the first two go get them! You won’t be disappointed. Happy reading my friends!

Dance Upon the Air (Three Sisters Island, #1)

Dance Upon the Air (Three Sisters Island, #1)Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story was everything cozy and thrilling as a good cup of dark roast coffee. I love the main character Nell. She comes from a past that has knocked her down a few times, but each time she got back up stronger and smarter. But what I love about her the most is that even after all she’s been through she’s still able to love and be loved. Also, it helps that her destiny was revealed to her and the small island of Three Sisters is just the place she needs to be.

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave #1)

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1)The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you’re in the mood for a dystopian adventure then this book is for you! I honestly hated not being able to listen to the story all the way through. Unfortunately real life had to come first a few times. The story follows a few teens and how they try to survive the 5th wave. But what is the 5th wave? You’ll have to read or listen to it to find out! Happy reading my friends.

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1)Soulless by Gail Carriger

Hmmm….

I’m not sure how to feel about this book. It’s one that you have to read and saver it slowly. For those that read this in one sitting I commend you. It took me a while to get through this book. The characters are interesting and one I’ve never read about before. However, the mix of supernatural with a bit of steampunk is nice. I’m definitely going to check out the next book.

Book Summary:
Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she’s a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.

Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire—and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London’s high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

SOULLESS is a comedy of manners set in Victorian London: full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Dark Ghost (Dark #28)

Dark Ghost (Dark, #28)Dark Ghost by Christine Feehan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has me so angry! For a book to invoke such emotion is always good. This is not to say that I didn’t curse, throw it across the room, and ranted and raved to some book friends about the story, and how horrible the relationship between the two main characters are, or how the repetitive words or phrases grated on my nerves. SPOILERE AHEAD! How dare a Carpathian male bind his lifemate without her knowledge! Not only of the binding but of their race! How selfish is that! How rude to take her blood without asking her permission! Such a dominate A$$HOLE! Ugh… just thinking about this story makes me angry! An honorable Carpathian doesn’t do those things! And so this is why this story has 5 stars. Christine’s writing has the power to invoke such emotion, that you absolutely HATE a character so thoroughly that you don’t even want to see his name ever again!

Wicked Business (Lizzy & Diesel, #2)

Wicked Business (Lizzy & Diesel, #2)Wicked Business by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story and characters just keeps getting better and better! Carl the pet monkey is a riot! I like how the cat doesn’t really have a name, and all the sass of the charachters expecially Lizzy! I couldn’t help but laugh in some places an cringe in others. Overall, if you’re looking for a quick, funny read thats full of over the top, not even relatable characters than this book is for you! I can’t wait to read the next book!

Book Summary:

Whether it’s monkey business, funny business or getting down to business, Janet Evanovich’s Lizzy and Diesel series proves that there’s no business like Wicked Business
Lizzy Tucker’s once normal life as a pastry chef in Salem, Massachusetts, turns upside down as she battles both sinister forces and an inconvenient attraction to her unnaturally talented but off-limits partner, Diesel.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his twenty-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust. Following clues contained in a cryptic nineteenth-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences. On their way they’ll leave behind a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and general mayhem.

Diesel’s black sheep cousin, Gerwulf Grimoire, also wants the Stone. His motives are far from pure, and what he plans on doing with the treasure, no one knows…but Lizzy Tucker fears she’s in his crosshairs. Never far and always watching, Grimoire has a growing, vested interest in the cupcake-baker-turned-finder-of-lost-things. As does another dangerous and dark opponent in the hunt – a devotee of lawlessness and chaos, known only as Anarchy.

Treasures will be sought, and the power of lust will be unmistakable as Lizzy and Diesel attempt to stay ahead of Anarchy, Grimoire, and his medieval minion, Hatchet, in this ancient game of twisted riddles and high-stakes hide-and-seek.

This series just keeps getting better! I found myself enthrall with the story of Lionheart and Rose Red. I can say much or I’d give spoilers which is what I don’t do, but the characters are relatable and very likeable. The story and setting will have you turning the page sooner than you want too!
