This is such a sweet story! Well the ending was really sweet with an amazing twist! I never saw that coming! If you’re into a YA time traveling stories then pick this book up! You’ll be glad you did. This book had me on my toes almost the entire way through. There are a few twists that will leave your jaw on the floor, plus the way she writes the story will have you living in that timeline.

Book Summary:
Casey Donovan has issues: hair, height and uncontrollable trips to the 19th century! And now this –she’s accidentally taken Nate Mackenzie, the cutest boy in the school, back in time.

Protocol pressures her to tell their 1860 hosts that he is her brother, and when Casey finds she has a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, something changes in Nate. Are those romantic sparks or is it just “brotherly” protectiveness?

When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on the bottom of the rung of the social ladder and Nate perched high on the very top. Except this time her heart is broken. Plus, her best friend is mad, her parents are split up, and her younger brother gets escorted home by the police. The only thing that could make life worse is if, by some strange twist of fate, she took Nate back to the past again.

Which of course, she does.

Treasured Grace (Heart of the Frontier #1)

Treasured Grace (Heart of the Frontier #1)Treasured Grace by Tracie Peterson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was wanting to read a nice heart warming story where everything is perfect and everyone lives happily every after. You can say I was surprised when this book wasn’t what I was expecting! It held me captivated from page one and I found myself sneaking reading time to finish it. The main characters of the story had to face a lot of heartache and hardships while on the wagon train west. They had to over come their troubles and find a way to trust in a God who allowed evil things to happen to them and the others. I don’t want to say more or I’d give out spoilers, but it’s a must read if you’re into stories about the wagon train and Oregon Trail!. I can’t wait for this series to continue.

Book Summary:
Tracie Peterson Begins Compelling New Series Set on the 1840s Frontier

Grace Martindale has known more than her share of hardship. After her parents died, raising her two younger sisters became her responsibility. A hasty marriage to a minister who is heading to the untamed West seemed like an opportunity for a fresh start, but a cholera outbreak along the wagon trail has left Grace a widow in a very precarious position.

Having learned natural remedies and midwifery from her mother, Grace seeks an opportunity to use her skills for the benefit of others. So when she and her sisters arrive at the Whitman mission in “Oregon Country,” she decides to stay rather than push on.

With the help of Alex Armistead, a French-American fur trapper, Grace begins to provide care for her neighbors, including some of the native populace. But not everyone welcomes her skills–or her presence–and soon Grace finds herself and those she loves in more danger than she imagined possible.

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander #1)

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1)Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting book to say the least. The characters were just hilarious especially Hawk and Adrienne. I mean seriously how can a man from the 1500’s who’s known as a great lover contend with a woman from the 20th century? It all leads to one amazing story! Oh and don’t get me started on the jealous Adam who is know as the Queens consort. He just causes trouble for everyone. Happy reading my friends.

Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm’s length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.

A prisoner in time…

She had a perfect “no” on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne’s reservations were no match for Hawk’s determination to keep her by his side..

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is such a lovely story. I loved reading about Keelin and her journey from not knowing her heritage to fully discovering who she truly is. She goes from living in Boston to visiting her grandma in Ireland and finding a family she never knew she had. This book is very heart warming and full of humor. It’s a good read to curl up to on a rainy day.

Dark Crime (Dark Carpathians #27)

Dark Crime (Dark, #27)Dark Crime by Christine Feehan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m not to sure about this book. It’s a good story but the first half of the book I felt like someone else was writing it. The story was flat and nothing like I’m use to from The Queen of Paranormal Romance. However, once I got passed half way through the book was awesome! The main character Blaze is a kickbutt heroine that has a take no shit attitude. Granted she has been through a lot and got stuck with a caveman lol. I’m sure we’ll see more of the other characters in later books.
