Chivalrous (Valiant Hearts #2)

Chivalrous (Valiant Hearts, #2)Chivalrous by Dina L. Sleiman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow! This is a great story! I found myself wanting to just finish it in one sitting but life kind of had it own plans. This story is about Allen and how he sets off on his own. He finds himself in a new land with new friends, but along the way he finds out what it means to become a just and fair knight. There might even be a little romance to come his way by a fierce lady named Gwen. I can’t say to much or I’d spoil the book for you. So go out there and read this book! I can’t wait to dig into the third one!

Book Summary:
Strong and adventurous Gwendolyn Barnes longs to be a knight like her chivalrous brothers. However, that is not an option for her, not even in the Arthurian-inspired Eden where she dwells. Her parents view her only as a marriage pawn, and her domineering father is determined to see her wed to a brutish man who will break her spirit.

When handsome, good-hearted Allen of Ellsworth arrives in Edendale searching for his place in the world, Gwendolyn spies in him the sort of fellow she could imagine marrying. Yet fate seems determined to keep them apart. Tournaments, intrigue, and battles–along with twists and turns aplenty–await these two as they struggle to find love, identity, and their true destinies.

Right to Kill (Nathan McBride #6)

Right to Kill (Nathan McBride, #6)Right to Kill by Andrew Peterson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first introduction to Nathan McBride and his partner. Even though this is the 6th book, it stood on it own. It was fast paced, and kept me on my toes. I didn’t want to stop listening to it. If you’re into military thrillers then this book is for you! I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

Book Summary:

When a team of commandos—highly skilled and armed to the teeth—tries to kidnap retired CIA station chief Linda Genneken from her home, trained Marine Nathan McBride and his partner, Harvey Fontana, arrive just in time to join the fight. But their well-honed CIA instincts tell them this is only the beginning.

McBride and Fontana set out to learn who ordered the midnight raid, and why. Is it connected to a rescue mission they conducted with Genneken in South America—a mission that nearly killed McBride? Is it related to the string of assassinations happening simultaneously in that area of the world? Or both?

With the help of their CIA contacts and aided by Genneken, the two men unravel a criminal plot with global implications. And as their race to find answers unspools in six supercharged hours, McBride and his team will be tested like never before.

Ethan (The Surprise Brides, #4)Ethan by Sylvia McDaniel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a sweet, fast read. I love this story and the characters. Beth is a strong and courageous woman who knows how to keep on going when things get tough. Ethan is a kind country boy who knows how to support and encourage his wife even if she was a mail ordered bride. If you’re looking for a story to curl up to with a cup of coffee or tea this is the story for you.
