The Radiant Road

The Radiant RoadThe Radiant Road by Katherine Catmull

I wish I could have just sat down with a cup of coffee and read this book in one sitting, instead of having to put it down and read it here and there. Maybe if I have done that, I wouldn’t have been so confused throughout it all. Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice story that kept my interest, it’s just the way the story transitioned from one place to the next that left me confused. This story is about Clare and what she learns when her father moves them back to their family home in Ireland. It’s a story about the Strange, the Good People, or as most of us knows them as Fairies. Clare through trial and error learns of her moms past, and what she herself is now in charge of protecting. If you like stories of Faires, evil men, and girl who could save all the world then this is the book for you!

Book Summary:
A gorgeously written tale of magic, friendship, and self-discovery set in a dream-like landscape filled with fairies.

After years of living in America, Clare Macleod and her father are returning to Ireland, where they’ll inhabit the house Clare was born in—a house built into a green hillside with a tree for a wall. For Clare, the house is not only full of memories of her mother, but also of a mysterious boy with raven-dark hair and dreamlike nights filled with stars and magic. Clare soon discovers that the boy is as real as the fairy-making magic, and that they’re both in great danger from an ancient foe.

Fast-paced adventure and spellbinding prose combine to weave a tale of love and loyalty in this young adult fantasy.

No, no, no!!! It ended too soon and left me with questions. I can’t stand it……. It took me months to get through this but let me tell you once I got half way through it I couldn’t put the book down. The story got better, the fight scenes more intense, the evil ones become more dark, the good guys more badass! Oh Butch you’re just one twisted SOB….. And as for your parents and sibblings, well they can stick it where the sun don’t shine! OK my rant is over, if you love the BDB you’ll love this book. The second half won’t disappoint to grab and keep your attention. Happy reading my friends.
