Trouble In Store

Trouble in StoreTrouble in Store by Carol Cox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those grab a cup of coffee or two, curl up on your favorite reading spot, and just read til it’s done type of books. It’s a feel good book that has left me feeling like some of my faith has been restored. It has mystery, heartache, love, and triumph. Nothing is impossible as long you believe and have faith. I love the strong female character of this book. Some of her characteristic reminds me of myself. She is brave, loyal, kind, and is not afraid to get dirty when the need arises. Over all this is a great book if you are looking for something to uplift your spirits, even if it’s just from cover to end. I’m very glad I was able to get an ARC of this book, I honestly believe that I wouldn’t have read it otherwise, and now I’m very glad I have.

Book Overview:

Fired from her most recent governess position, Melanie Ross must embrace her last resort: the Arizona mercantile she inherited from her cousin. But Caleb Nelson is positive he inherited the mercantile, and he’s not about to let some obstinate woman with newfangled ideas mess up all he’s worked for. He’s determined to get Melanie married off as soon as possible, and luckily there are plenty of single men in town quite interested in taking her off his hands.
The problem is, Caleb soon realizes he doesn’t want her to marry up with any of them. He’s drawn to Melanie more every day, and he has to admit some of her ideas for the store unexpectedly offer positive results.

But someone doesn’t want the store to succeed, and what used to be just threatening words has escalated into deliberate destruction and lurkers in the night. When a body shows up on the mercantile steps–and the man obviously didn’t die from natural causes–things really get dangerous. Can Melanie and Caleb’s business–and romance–survive the trouble that’s about to come their way?

Eternity (Immortal Witches #1)

Eternity (Immortal Witches, #1)Eternity by Maggie Shayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, love, love! Oh holy wow, this is an amazing book! I couldn’t put it down, and when I had to I was thinking of the story, the lives of the characters, what they are doing and what would happen next. I couldn’t wait to pick it up again. I found myself reading way to quickly and had to slow down just to savor the feel, the lives, and the love of each character even if they were bad. Now I must find a way to get the other books to the series. I can’t wait to get back the lives of Raven, Arianna, Duncan, and the Immortal witches.

Sacrifice of Love (The Grey Wolves, #7)

Sacrifice of Love (The Grey Wolves, #7)Sacrifice of Love by Quinn Loftis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I got to hand it to Mrs. Loftis for writing, creating, and allowing us entrance into a wonderful adventure. I missed my Grey Wolf friends and am kicking myself as to why I didn’t pick this last book up sooner. Once again, I found myself trapped in world or wonder, hope, love, adventure, heartache, tragedy, and overall good company. I found this to be the best book to the GW series, even if it was the last one. I cried, laughed, sighed, almost threw my Kindle across the room at some parts, and even cursed at a few “stupid fur-balls”. This is great book and a great ending!

From Goodreads.com:

As one evil falls, another rises in its place. The powerful witch, Desdemona, has finally been killed by an alliance of wolf, elf, and fae. But Reyaz, brother to Cypher the warlock king, has vowed retribution for a life that was taken from him. Now Cypher must decide not only how to protect his newfound mate and his people, but also how to destroy the only family he has left.
Meanwhile, Jen’s pregnancy progresses and the fateful due date draws ever nearer. The thought of losing Decebel’s child constantly threatens to overwhelm her. With each passing day, Decebel grows more distant, causing Jen to wonder what toll the impending loss of their child is taking on him. Unbeknownst to Jen, in an act of desperation to protect his unborn child and mate, Decebel strikes a deadly bargain with the Great Luna—his life in place of his child’s. There is only one way for that to happen; the bond between he and Jen must be broken.
As Jen as Decebel struggle through their darkness, another kind of darkness is infiltrating Fane’s heart. Doubts and questions linger as he tries to cope with the emotions brought on in the aftermath of Desdemona’s curse. He knows what happened wasn’t real, but still he can’t rid himself of the terrible images seared into his memory. Jacque is his light, the one who keeps the darkness at bay, yet he won’t let her inside to do just that.
Sally continues to learn what it means to be a gypsy healer and Costin struggles to protect her as she runs full speed ahead to help her wolves, heedless of her own safety. She sees her best friends struggling, each enduring their own trials. She’s desperate to help them, but can she keep them safe?
With all of these things hanging heavy over the heads of the Serbia and Romania packs, their attention is divided. The wolves do not even realize a threat has slowly infiltrated their midst. Will they recognize the threat in time to save the lives that precariously hang in the balance?
Against this backdrop of darkness, choices will be made, fears will confronted, and the ultimate sacrifice will be made. Will the wolves stand together to defeat the threats arrayed against them, both from within and without? Will love conquer all? Or will the beleaguered wolves finally succumb to their demons?

Raytara: Judgement of the Stars (Arash #2)

Raytara: Judgement of the Stars (Arash #2)Raytara: Judgement of the Stars by Elke Schuster

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.com.
Love, love, love this book! This is a the second book to the Arash series, and it won’t let you down! This books picks up the story of Livia and her “family”. After the shadow hunt, things start to go wrong. The “family” is in trouble and must find a way to stay together. Just like the first book, this book is full of action, adventure, twists, and turns. It held me captivated til it was finished. I can’t wait to see what the “family” has in store for them next!

The roles are changing:

Bright may not be bright after all when the past catches up with dark sins. But dark isn’t supposed to be the equivalent of bad, or is it?

Livia has been an Arash for five months when her perfect life starts to crumble around her. A second Arash family, led by the fierce Philomena, harbouring a century-old hatred against Randolph, threatens to destroy them all, while Ruth spills Livia’s best kept secret, wrecking her love affair. Philomena, out for revenge, infiltrates her followers into Randolph’s family, but will everyone fall for the ruse? In the course of events Livia discovers her amazing inexplicable powers but will she be strong enough to save Randolph, who hides more secrets than anyone could guess, from Raytara, the judgement of the stars? Like “Arash – Shadow Hunt”, the first volume of the four-book series, “Raytara – Judgement of the Stars” is a gripping love story about unthinkable challenges and dangers in the fascinating world of the Arash.
